Dr. Herieth F. Hyera (MD, MMed Internal Medicine, MSc Neurology) is a lecturer at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) with strong interests in clinical neurology, academic medicine, and research. She recently completed advanced training in Neurology and is actively involved in teaching, patient care, and research. Her areas of interest include epilepsy, onchocerciasis-related epilepsy, stroke, movement disorders, and cognitive disorders. Dr. Hyera has been involved in research on onchocerciasis-related epilepsy in Mahenge, Tanzania, contributing to efforts aimed at improving understanding and care of neurological disorders in endemic communities. She is passionate about advancing neurological care, education, and neuroscience research in Tanzania and across Africa.
