Ian Wickramasekera, PhD is retired Full Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences of the Eastern Virginia Medical School since 1980. Previously Clinical Associate to Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine,1971-1980 at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Peoria, Illinois. He is a Fellow of the Association of Psychological 1998-20025. President of the Illinois Psychological Association 1979-1980 and President Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback 1998-1999, He was the Editor of Biofeedback, Behavior Therapy and Hypnosis,1976. He was the author of “On attempts to modify hypnotic susceptibility” in the Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences,1977. He was the Author of Clinical Behavioral Medicine ,1988. He was Co- Editor Handbook of Mind -Body Medicine for Primary Care. He has published over 100 peer reviewed publications in Psychology, Psychiatry, Neurology and Neuroscience and is the author recently in the journal of Brain Sciences of, Wickramasekera 2025, The High-Risk Model of Threat Perception Modulates Placebo Nocebo Functional Somatic Disorders.
